Maine Black Bears Shut Out by Quinnipiac in 4-0 Defeat
The University of Maine men’s hockey team suffered a significant defeat against Quinnipiac University, losing 4-0 on March 2, 2024, in Hamden, Connecticut. Maine’s Mathis Rousseau made an impressive 29 saves, showcasing his skills in the face of constant pressure. On the other side, Matej Marinov recorded 19 saves for Quinnipiac, contributing to his team’s solid defensive performance.
The game was marred by penalties for Maine, with Jaden Lipinski receiving a game misconduct for kneeing and Bodie Nobes penalized for roughing, further complicating their ability to compete effectively. The intense physical nature of the match underscored the challenges the Black Bears faced.
With this result, Quinnipiac improves to 3-1-1, continuing a strong start to their season. The Black Bears will need to regroup as they prepare for their next matchup, aiming to bounce back from this setback.
