Homeowners in Yolo County, California, need to take urgent action regarding their property taxes for the fiscal year 2025-26. The first installment of property tax payments is due starting on November 1, 2025, and those who fail to submit their payments by 5:00 p.m. on December 10, 2025, will face a substantial penalty of 10 percent, as outlined by the California Revenue & Taxation Code.

For homeowners who prefer mailing their payments, it is crucial that they ensure their envelopes are postmarked by the U.S. Postal Service no later than December 10. Alternatively, payments can be made electronically. While online and telephone payments offer convenience, homeowners should be aware that credit or debit card transactions incur a 2.34 percent convenience fee. E-checks, on the other hand, remain free of charge. All electronic transactions must be completed by 23:59 on the deadline date to avoid penalties.

The Yolo County Tax Collector’s Office emphasizes the importance of staying proactive. Homeowners should not assume they will receive their tax bills without fail. If a tax bill has not arrived, residents are encouraged to contact the office directly at (530) 666-8625 or via email at [email protected]. For in-person inquiries or payments, the Tax Collector’s Office is located at 625 Court Street, Room 102, Woodland, and offers assistance Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with extended hours until 5:00 p.m. on December 10.
