Stockton Man Arrested After Critically Wounding Woman in Vallejo

URGENT UPDATE: A 34-year-old Stockton man has been arrested for attempted homicide after critically injuring a woman in a shooting incident in Vallejo last week. The Vallejo Police Department confirmed the arrest of DeShawn Michael Cochise Pollard following a frantic series of events that unfolded over the weekend.

At 11:06 a.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2023, police received an emergency call from the victim, who reported she had been shot and was en route to a local hospital. Officers met her at the hospital, where they learned she was suffering from life-threatening injuries after being shot in the 100 block of Forest Ridge Drive.

Investigators quickly identified Pollard as the suspect and obtained an arrest warrant. With reports surfacing that he may have been in the Sacramento area, authorities alerted the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

On Saturday at 8:25 p.m., deputies spotted Pollard in a vehicle on the 4500 block of Ledonne Drive.
