UPDATE: An urgent recall has expanded to include two brands of eggs due to potential salmonella contamination. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) confirmed that both Kenz Henz and Black Sheep Company eggs may pose health risks after 40 samples tested positive for seven different strains of salmonella.

The affected eggs are traced back to a facility operated by Black Sheep Egg Company in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. Consumers are advised to check their refrigerators immediately, as these recalled eggs may still be present due to recent expiration dates.

While no illnesses have been reported thus far, salmonella can cause severe gastrointestinal issues, including diarrhea, stomach cramps, and fever, particularly affecting young children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems.

The recall includes:
Kenz Henz 12-count packages of “Grade AA Large Pasture Raised” eggs, marked with UPC code 86949400030, Julian dates of 241 (August 30) to 244 (September 2), and best by dates of October 11 to October 14 and October 16 to October 17.
Black Sheep Company’s 12- and 18-count cartons of “Free Range Large Grade A Brown Eggs” with best by dates from August 22, 2025, through October 31, 2025. UPC codes are 860010568507 and 860010568538.

Authorities stress the importance of returning these products to retailers for a full refund or disposing of them immediately. As the FDA continues to monitor the situation, they will provide updates if additional brands are implicated in this recall.

Stay informed and prioritize your health. Check your egg cartons now!
