Robert Buckley Reveals Unique Early Thanksgiving Tradition
Actor Robert Buckley and his wife, Jenny Wade, have established a distinct family tradition by celebrating Thanksgiving a week earlier than most. In an exclusive interview with JustJared.com, Buckley shared the amusing origin of this annual practice, which began shortly after the birth of their son.
Reflecting on their first Thanksgiving as new parents, Buckley noted, “We genuinely mistook which week Thanksgiving was and we did our whole Thanksgiving dinner and then realized the day of that we were a whole week early.” As a result, the family decided to continue this unconventional celebration, making it a beloved tradition to gather on the Thursday before the official holiday.
Holiday Plans and Co-Stars Share Traditions
During the same interview, Buckley’s co-star from the upcoming Hallmark film, Kimberley Sustad, chimed in with her own festive practices. Sustad expressed her enthusiasm for the Elf on the Shelf tradition, where she engages her children with daily creative setups, enhancing the holiday spirit in her household.
Their film, Merry Christmas, Ted Cooper!, is set to air on the Hallmark Channel tonight, October 25, 2023, at 20:00 (8 p.m.) Eastern Time. The movie follows Weatherman Ted Cooper, portrayed by Buckley, who is determined to turn his luck around this Christmas after facing a series of unfortunate events in previous years.
As Ted returns to his hometown of Lackawanna, NY, he encounters a host of challenges, including a trip to Urgent Care after a mishap while decorating. The film explores themes of resilience and community support, as Ted reconnects with his former high school science teacher, Ruth Mittens, and his high school crush, now Dr. Hope Miller, played by Sustad. Together, they help him navigate the trials of the holiday season.
Anticipation Builds for Hallmark Premiere
Audiences are eagerly anticipating the film’s premiere, which promises to deliver the heartwarming elements typical of Hallmark productions. With a blend of humor and holiday cheer, Buckley’s character aims to rediscover joy during a season often fraught with pressure.
As the holiday season approaches, Buckley and Sustad’s insights into their personal traditions offer a refreshing glimpse into how families can create their unique holiday experiences. Their story serves as a reminder that the essence of Thanksgiving may lie not in strict adherence to tradition, but in the joy of family connections, regardless of the calendar.
