URGENT UPDATE: A serial slasher is on the loose in Brooklyn after attacking three unsuspecting victims in a shocking 24-hour spree. Authorities are urging the public to help identify the suspect, who has been linked to three unprovoked knife assaults on subway trains and city streets.

The rampage began on October 21, 2023, at approximately 6:30 a.m. when a 37-year-old man was slashed on the left side of his face while riding a Manhattan-bound Q train in Flatbush. The victim exited at the Church Ave. station and notified police, while the assailant remained on the train until the next stop.

Just hours later, at around 9:40 p.m., the suspect struck again, attacking a 53-year-old man near Foster and New York Aves., about a mile-and-a-half from the initial incident. Then, at approximately 6:55 a.m. on Sunday, the slasher targeted a 56-year-old man just a block away, near Newkirk Ave. and New York Aves. Each victim was slashed on the left side of their faces in these brazen attacks.

All three victims have been transported to Kings County Hospital and are reported to be in stable condition, according to police sources. The NYPD is actively searching for the suspect, who was last seen wearing a navy blue jacket, black shorts, and white sneakers.

The situation has escalated concerns over public safety in the subway system, particularly following a recent increase in violent incidents. Just last week, on October 16, a man was stabbed in the back during an altercation on a rush-hour D train, leading to heightened vigilance among commuters.

In light of these alarming events, the NYPD is calling on anyone with information about the serial slasher to contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. Authorities assure that all calls will remain confidential.

As police continue to investigate, the community is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity. This developing story has left residents in Brooklyn shaken and questioning their safety on public transit. Stay tuned for updates as this urgent situation unfolds.
