Two Arrested in Fatal Shooting of San Francisco Club Manager
UPDATE: Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the shocking murder of Mark Calcagni, the 60-year-old general manager of the historic Condor Club in San Francisco. The arrests were made on October 24, 2025, following an intensive investigation by the Santa Rosa Police Department.
Calcagni was discovered with a fatal gunshot wound in the bike lane of Brookwood Avenue near Birdsfoot Way at approximately 6:25 a.m. on October 3. Initial investigations faced obstacles due to limited evidence, but law enforcement officials persisted, analyzing witness interviews, surveillance footage, and digital evidence, according to reports from local news outlets.
Detectives apprehended Richard Lund, 43, at his apartment in Dublin, California. His accomplice, Asia Morton, 25, was arrested shortly after returning from a trip at San Francisco International Airport. Authorities believe Lund fatally shot Calcagni after lying in wait for him to return home from work. Morton, in a romantic relationship with Lund, is suspected of assisting in the planning of the attack.
Both suspects had ties to the Condor Club and were previously employed there, raising questions about potential motives. Investigators executed a search warrant at their residence, although it remains unclear if they uncovered evidence directly linking them to Calcagni’s murder.
The Condor Club, which opened its doors in 1964, is notorious for its history of scandal, including a tragic incident in 1983 involving a fatal accident during a performance. The club has long been a fixture in San Francisco’s nightlife, known as the birthplace of topless entertainment in the United States.
As of now, both Lund and Morton are being held without bail on murder charges. The investigation remains active, with officials yet to disclose a clear motive behind this brutal crime.
This shocking incident has sent ripples through the community and raised concerns over safety in nightlife districts. Residents and patrons alike are urged to remain vigilant as authorities continue their investigation.
