As the Arizona Fall League (AFL) progresses, the spotlight is firmly on the hottest prospects making headlines. Each week, a dedicated team from Baseball America evaluates the standout performances of players, with the latest rankings highlighting ten prospects who have excelled. This week’s list reflects their accomplishments over the past week, showcasing emerging talents in the minor leagues.
Top Performers in the Arizona Fall League
Sam Antonacci, a 22-year-old second baseman for the Glendale Desert Dogs, leads the rankings with an impressive .692/.765/.923 line, going 9-for-13 at the plate. His performance included five stolen bases, demonstrating his speed and agility on the base paths. Antonacci, who had a breakout season in 2025 with a .291 batting average and 48 stolen bases, continues to prove that his blend of contact hitting and speed could soon earn him a chance in the major leagues.
Following closely is Kevin McGonigle, a 21-year-old shortstop for the Scottsdale Scorpions. He has maintained a .500 average, hitting 8-for-16 with two home runs and six RBIs. His standout moment came during a game where he hit a dramatic 424-foot home run against a top prospect, solidifying his place as a potential Rookie of the Year candidate in 2026.
Next is Karson Milbrandt, a right-handed pitcher for the Mesa Solar Sox. Milbrandt has bounced back from a challenging start, showcasing his dominance on the mound with a 3.38 ERA over 2.2 innings, including seven strikeouts. Despite his occasional control issues evidenced by two walks, he has quickly become one of the most effective pitchers in the league.
Emerging Talents and Standout Moments
Another notable player is Jack Hurley, an outfielder for the Salt River Rafters. At 23 years old, he has made a significant impact, hitting .385 with two home runs and eight RBIs in a single game that highlighted his offensive capabilities. Hurley’s impressive performance, including a near-cycle achievement, has drawn attention across the league.
Additionally, Raudi Rodriguez, a 22-year-old outfielder for the same team, has shown his prowess with a .438 batting average this week. Rodriguez’s consistent performance throughout the season, which included 20 doubles and 30 stolen bases, has translated well into the AFL, despite some strikeout challenges.
Young prospects like Josh Adamczewski and Luke Adams, both affiliated with the Brewers, are also making waves. Adamczewski, at just 20, has impressed with a .429 average and six RBIs, while Adams has shown versatility with a .462 average and strong on-base skills, making him a player to watch in the future.
Completing the top ten are Leo Balcazar from the Reds, who is striving to establish himself as a versatile infielder, and Charlie Condon from the Rockies, who is showcasing his batting skills despite some power struggles. Finally, James Hicks, a 24-year-old right-handed pitcher for the Scottsdale Scorpions, has yet to allow a run, demonstrating his effectiveness with a remarkable 14-to-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
These players are not only competing for individual accolades but also proving their potential to make significant impacts in Major League Baseball.
