Four Teenagers Apprehended in New Castle Vehicle Theft Case
Authorities in New Castle, Delaware, have arrested four teenagers following an investigation into a series of alleged vehicle thefts. The incidents unfolded shortly after midnight on October 28, 2025, when patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police responded to reports of a group of juveniles attempting to open car doors in the Eden Park Gardens neighborhood.
Upon arrival, officers discovered an unoccupied Kia Sorento parked in the middle of Albany Avenue with a broken window. As law enforcement approached the area, the suspects fled on foot, leading to multiple pursuits through the surrounding neighborhood. Ultimately, police apprehended the four individuals without incident.
Charges and Evidence Collected
During the investigation, officers recovered a variety of tools, gloves, and headlamps believed to have been used in the attempted thefts. Authorities confirmed that the Kia Sorento had been stolen from a community in the city of Wilmington. Additionally, a second Kia with a damaged window was located nearby.
The suspects, identified as three males aged 14 and one male aged 16, all from Wilmington, face multiple charges. These include attempted theft of a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, conspiracy in the second degree, resisting arrest, and criminal mischief. Investigators suspect that this group may be linked to other thefts or attempted thefts in the area.
