Exeter Dominates All-Berks Girls Soccer Honors for 2025 Season
The Exeter Eagles have secured top honors in the Berks County Interscholastic Athletic Association (BCIAA) for the 2025 girls soccer season. Senior Mackenzie Mentzer was named the BCIAA girls soccer Player of the Year, while her coach, Milt Scholl, received the Coach of the Year Award. This recognition comes after a successful season in which Mentzer played a pivotal role in leading the Eagles to the BCIAA championship.
Mentzer concluded the season with impressive statistics, ranking second in the BCIAA with 92 points from 37 goals and 18 assists. Her performance has been a significant factor in Exeter’s success, culminating in a thrilling 2-1 victory over Wilson in the BCIAA championship match.
All-Conference Selections Shine
The All-Conference Team selections featured strong representation from several schools. Gov. Mifflin led the way with four players: senior Jaja Gonzalez and juniors Bridget Martin, Anya Medianick, and Braelyn Reis. Exeter contributed three players to the All-Conference roster, including Mentzer, senior Holly Skipper, and junior Madeline McAuliffe.
Additionally, Schuylkill Valley had two representatives, juniors Presleigh Finkbeiner and Bailey Pekuri, while Wilson also had two selections in juniors June Fegley and Claire Troutman. Rounding out the All-Conference Team were junior Dylan Bossler from Conrad Weiser and senior Dulce Lytle from Wyomissing.
Finkbeiner notably led the BCIAA in scoring, finishing the season with 93 points from 41 goals and 11 assists. Her outstanding performance, along with those of Mentzer and Gonzalez, earned them All-State selections by the conference coaches, further highlighting the talent present in this year’s league.
Exeter’s achievements this season reflect not only the skills of its players but also the effective coaching by Scholl, who has fostered a competitive environment that has allowed his athletes to thrive. As the season concludes, the Eagles will look to build on this success in future competitions.
