UPDATE: A miner is currently unaccounted for and is believed to be trapped approximately 3/4 of a mile beneath the surface at the Rolling Thunder Mines in Drennen, West Virginia. This urgent situation was confirmed by D. Craig Chapman, President of the Nicholas County Commission.

As of 10 p.m. last night, crews are actively pumping water from the mine to locate the missing individual. Reports indicate that the mine began to flood around 1 p.m. yesterday, prompting immediate action from local emergency services.
