Nia Sanchez and Danny Booko Question Scheana Shay’s Absence from The Valley
Nia Sanchez and Danny Booko expressed their confusion regarding Scheana Shay’s absence from the upcoming season of *The Valley*. During an interview with *Us Weekly* at BravoCon 2025 in Las Vegas on November 15, Sanchez revealed, “I feel like we still have questions, and I know she addressed it in her podcast for the most part.” She added, “We love Scheana. And we thought when we started filming that she would be with us as well.”
Scheana Shay, a notable cast member, confirmed in an October episode of her podcast, “Scheananigans,” that she had been offered a spot for season 3 but ultimately declined. She stated, “For anyone hoping that I would be joining the cast, I am sorry to disappoint you this season.” Shay also addressed her critics, indicating, “For those who were very vocal about not wanting me to join the show, don’t worry. I’m sure I will find some other ways to disappoint you, so stay tuned.”
The absence of Scheana raised questions among her fellow cast members. Booko mentioned he had anticipated seeing Shay during filming, but that did not materialize. When prompted about the speculation surrounding her feud with cast member Lala Kent, Sanchez and Booko refrained from confirming any links. “I don’t know,” Sanchez said. “At the end of the day, she’s a veteran in this world. I feel like she would still join us even if there was a little drama with Lala.”
During the “Peaks and The Valley” panel at BravoCon, it was announced that both Lala Kent and Tom Schwartz would officially be part of the cast for season 3. The news about Shay’s absence was a hot topic, with fellow cast members Jasmine Goode and Zack Wickman also expressing their surprise. Goode joked, “This is literally the hot topic. We were shocked too because we thought she was doing it. And we still don’t really know exactly what’s going on.” Wickman suggested that Shay might have simply decided this was not the right moment for her to return to the show.
Despite not filming, Shay’s friendships with the cast remain intact. Goode, who recently celebrated the start of BravoCon with a dinner hosted by celebrity hairstylist Tevin Washington, confirmed that Shay will still be part of her upcoming wedding to Melissa Marie.
Janet Caperna, another cast member, believes that fans have not seen the last of Shay. She stated, “I think she just made the choice. It wasn’t the right time, the right thing for her. And you know, she is one of my best friends. I’ll still see her around. Scheana’s busy. She’s gonna stay busy. She never has a calm, like, chill moment. She’s always working and doing the most, so I think we’re going to see her again soon.”
As of now, *The Valley* is available for streaming on Peacock, though a premiere date for its third season has yet to be announced.
