URGENT UPDATE: Chicago police have issued an alert following a wave of 10 business burglaries across multiple neighborhoods this month. The incidents, which occurred in areas such as Avondale, Edison Park, Norwood Park, Near West Side, South Loop, Near South Side, Loop, West Loop, West Ridge, and Lakeview, have been executed with alarming frequency, sometimes merely minutes apart.

Authorities report that in each case, groups of two to four suspects are breaking into businesses using pry tools or crowbars to shatter front glass doors. Once inside, they quickly search for valuables to steal. In a particularly concerning incident last Saturday, a deli owner in Edison Park was threatened at gunpoint when he confronted the burglars, according to his wife and police.

The suspects are typically seen driving a stolen gray or silver Infinity four-door sedan. They are described as two men, aged between 20 and 30 years, often wearing dark-colored hooded sweatshirts, ski masks, and sweatpants.

Chicago police are urging anyone with information about these crimes to come forward. Detectives from Area Three can be reached at 312-744-8263, or tips can be submitted anonymously through CPDTIP.com using reference number # 25-CWP-034.

As this situation develops, local businesses and residents are advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately. The community’s safety may depend on quick action and shared information.

Stay tuned for further updates as police continue their investigation into this urgent matter.
