Bruce J. Stark, 80, Beloved Jacksonville Community Leader Dies
URGENT UPDATE: Bruce J. Stark, a cherished member of the Jacksonville community, has passed away at the age of 80. Stark, who was born on May 15, 1945, in Schenectady, NY, died on October 13, 2025, in Jacksonville, FL, leaving behind a legacy of service and compassion that will be deeply missed.
Stark graduated from Linton High School in 1963 and later earned degrees in computer science and mathematics from the University of California at Santa Barbara and Russell Sage College in Troy, NY. His commitment to service extended beyond academics; he was a proud veteran of the U.S. Naval Reserve, serving on active duty in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970.
Known for his leadership in the Jacksonville Jewish Center, Stark also held positions within organizations such as Magen David Adom and the Jacksonville Humane Society. His dedication to animal welfare was evident through his years fostering and adopting dogs with his wife, Katherine Senrick Stark, for the Golden Receiver Rescue Society.
Stark’s family life was a cornerstone of his identity. He is survived by his wife, son Aaron Stark, daughter Rachel Stark Corum (married to Brady Corum), and two grandchildren, Elliot David Corum and Arya Corum. His sisters, Nancy Schoenburg (married to Stuart) of Boca Raton, FL, and Barbara Heisler (married to Michael) of Tucson, AZ, also mourn his passing.
Stark’s passion for family, classic car shows, and helping others defined his life. His absence leaves a hole in the hearts of those who knew him, particularly within the Jacksonville community, where he actively contributed for many years.
Friends and family will honor Bruce J. Stark’s life and impact in a memorial service to be announced. Community members are encouraged to share their memories and condolences as the family navigates this profound loss.
