BREAKING: Iowa State’s star point guard Tamin Lipsey is officially out for today’s matchup against Creighton at the Players Era Festival due to a lower-body injury sustained during yesterday’s game against St. John’s. Lipsey left the court with just 2:09 remaining, visibly affected by the injury as he walked to the locker room with his jersey covering his face.

This immediate setback is significant, as Lipsey has been a key player for Iowa State this season, averaging 18.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and 3.2 steals. Coach T.J. Otzelberger confirmed the news after the game, stating, “We’re still evaluating. The training staff, medical staff, just told us it’s going to be a day-to-day, lower-body extremity, so I don’t have great detail on it.”

The injury comes at a crucial time as the Cyclones look to maintain momentum in their season. Senior guard Nate Heise will step in as a starter in place of Lipsey against Creighton. This is not the first time Lipsey has faced injury challenges; he battled a groin issue late last season and missed much of the preseason due to a knee injury.

With Lipsey sidelined, fans and analysts alike are concerned about the impact on Iowa State’s performance. As a two-time All-Big 12 selection and a two-time member of the Big 12 All-Defensive team, his absence will be felt on both ends of the court.

As the Cyclones prepare for their game this evening, the situation remains fluid. Further evaluations are expected, and updates will be provided as they become available. All eyes will be on Iowa State as they navigate this situation and aim to secure a victory without their star point guard.

Stay tuned for more updates on Lipsey’s condition and Iowa State’s performance in today’s pivotal game.
