Brandi Carlile is set to host this weekend’s episode of Saturday Night Live (SNL), taking the spotlight from actor Miles Teller, who was originally slated for the role. The announcement comes after the release of promotional clips that highlight a humorous exchange between Teller and cast member Ashley Padilla regarding her new haircut.

In the promos, Padilla confronts Teller for not acknowledging her recent haircut, exclaiming, “I got a haircut, and you haven’t said anything about it!” Teller’s response is light-hearted, saying, “Yeah, sorry, I think I didn’t notice, Ashley, because we’ve never met before.” The interaction sets a playful tone, showcasing the chemistry between the cast members.

Carlile, an eleven-time Grammy winner, steps in to compliment Padilla, saying, “I noticed. The second I saw you, I knew you had that new-haircut glow.” This moment leads Padilla to declare, “Thank you, Brandi Carlile! You’re the host now,” to which Carlile joyfully responds with a “Yesssss.” Teller, seemingly caught off guard, asks if she is joking, but Padilla assures him that she is serious. “I hope you can sing,” she adds, referencing Teller’s musical abilities.

Teller’s musical talents have been recognized before; he performed with country star Keith Urban during a concert in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 2016, where they duetted on The Temptations’ classic “My Girl.” This upcoming episode marks Teller’s second time hosting SNL, following his debut in 2022.

Brandi Carlile’s appearance on SNL will be her fourth as a musical guest and her second this year. She previously performed alongside Elton John in April, promoting songs from their collaborative album, *Who Believes in Angels?* This time, she is expected to showcase tracks from her newly released solo album, *Returning to Myself*.

The episode is particularly timely as it airs just ahead of the premiere of Teller’s upcoming film, *Eternity*, which is set to hit theaters on November 26, 2023. The film, a sci-fi romantic comedy, features co-stars Elizabeth Olsen and Callum Turner.

Fans can catch the exciting episode of SNL this Saturday at 11:30 p.m. ET/8:30 p.m. PT on NBC, with additional streaming options available on Peacock. As always, the show promises to bring laughter and entertainment to audiences around the globe.
