Charlie Puth Joins Star-Studded Lineup for Global Citizen Festival in Brazil
Charlie Puth has joined an impressive roster of artists for the upcoming Global Citizen Festival: Amazônia, scheduled for November 1, 2024, in Belém, Brazil. This festival aims to raise awareness and funds for the protection of the Amazon rainforest and amplify the voices of indigenous communities.
Puth will perform alongside previously announced artists including Anitta, Chris Martin of Coldplay, Seu Jorge, Gilberto Gil, Gaby Amarantos, Eric Terena, Kae Guajajara, and Djuena Tikunal. The event will take place at the Estádio Olímpico, also known as Mangueirão, in the state of Pará.
In a statement, Puth expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I’m honoured to be part of such an important cause for our planet and can’t wait to see you on November 1st.” The festival will also feature Brazilian singer Vivi Batidão during its pre-show, while presenters will include Regina Casé, Mel Fronckowiak, Hugo Gloss, and Isabelle Nogueira. Other notable appearances are expected from Rodrigo Santoro and Estêvão Ciavatta.
The festival’s primary goal is to raise $1 billion to protect, restore, and rewild the Amazon rainforest, a significant initiative given the ongoing environmental challenges facing the region. It will operate with a zero carbon footprint, aligning with Global Citizen’s mission to combat climate change and promote sustainability.
Fans can tune in live to the festival at 18:00 ET, with broadcasts also available on Globo throughout Brazil. This event marks a pivotal moment in the fight to preserve one of the world’s most vital ecosystems, as it seeks to unite global citizens around a common cause.
In recent developments, Charlie Puth has also been busy with his music career, announcing his upcoming album, “Whatever’s Clever!” set to release on March 6, 2025. His recent performances in New York and Los Angeles included live debuts of new tracks, showcasing his evolving artistry as he prepares for fatherhood, expecting his first child with wife Brooke Sansone in March.
As the festival approaches, the focus on the Amazon rainforest’s plight grows ever more critical. The participation of major artists like Puth and Martin underscores the importance of collective action in addressing environmental issues. The Global Citizen Festival: Amazônia promises to be a significant event, not only for entertainment but also for raising awareness and funds for an urgent cause.
