Chris Hemsworth Embarks on Emotional Road Trip with Father
In a poignant exploration of family and memory, Australian actor Chris Hemsworth is set to showcase an intimate road trip with his father, Craig Hemsworth, in an upcoming documentary titled Chris Hemsworth: A Road Trip To Remember. The film focuses on their journey across Australia as they confront the realities of Craig’s early-stage Alzheimer’s diagnosis.
Documentary Highlights Personal Journey
The documentary, produced by National Geographic, follows Chris and Craig as they revisit significant locations from their past, particularly their old family home in the Northern Territory. In a newly released trailer, Chris expresses his desire to assist his father, stating, “My dad and I are going on a road trip, back into our past. He has early-stage Alzheimer’s. I wanna do everything I can to help him. Turns out, this experience could help fight the disease.”
The trailer features heartwarming moments, capturing the bond between father and son as they reflect on cherished memories. Chris shared his thoughts on the project via social media, noting, “My Dad and I had always spoken about taking a trip back to the Northern Territory, where our family had lived years ago, but we had never been able to set aside the time to actually do it. More recently, the idea of taking that road trip reemerged with more pressing importance. The result was a more profound, more moving, and more surprising journey than I ever anticipated.”
Exploring the Impact of Connection
Throughout their adventure, Chris also delves into the broader implications of connection, exploring how meaningful relationships can mitigate the risk of dementia, slow cognitive decline, and even extend life. This aspect of the documentary highlights the significance of emotional bonds, especially in the context of mental health challenges.
Chris Hemsworth: A Road Trip To Remember is scheduled to premiere on November 23, 2025, on National Geographic. Following its debut, the documentary will be available for streaming on platforms such as Disney+ and Hulu beginning on November 24.
This documentary not only aims to entertain but also seeks to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease and the importance of familial support in navigating such challenges. As Chris and Craig embark on this emotional journey, audiences can anticipate a blend of nostalgia, education, and heartfelt moments that resonate beyond the screen.
