Cinetic Signs Screenwriter Gabriel Sherman for New Projects
Cinetic, a prominent talent management and media advisory firm, has signed screenwriter and bestselling author Gabriel Sherman. Known for his insightful narratives that examine the intersection of politics and media, Sherman gained significant recognition for his work on the original screenplay for last year’s film, The Apprentice. The film earned Oscar nominations for Sebastian Stan, who portrayed a young Donald Trump, and Jeremy Strong, who depicted Trump’s morally ambiguous mentor, Roy Cohn.
Sherman is also the author of the New York Times bestseller, The Loudest Voice in the Room, which provided an in-depth look at the inner workings of Fox News. His contributions to the adaptation of this book into a limited series for Showtime were instrumental, as the series won a Golden Globe for Russell Crowe‘s portrayal of Fox News founder Roger Ailes. The show also featured performances by Seth MacFarlane and Sienna Miller.
In addition to his film work, Sherman has written for the ABC drama Alaska Daily, created by Tom McCarthy and starring Hilary Swank. He currently has multiple film and television projects in development with notable entities such as Amazon, North Road, and Oscar-nominated director Joseph Cedar, known for films like Footnote and Norman.
Sherman also contributes as a special correspondent for Vanity Fair. Looking ahead, Simon & Schuster is set to publish his forthcoming biography of Rupert Murdoch‘s family next year. Alongside his new representation at Cinetic, he will continue to be represented by WME and Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz.
Cinetic continues to enhance its talent roster with Sherman’s signing, joining a distinguished group that includes award-winning writers and directors such as Richard Linklater, David Gordon Green, Todd Haynes, Betsy West, Julie Cohen, Matthew Heineman, Carla Gutierrez, David Osit, and Kevin Macdonald. This growing roster reflects Cinetic’s commitment to nurturing diverse and innovative talent within the industry.
