HigherDOSE has officially ventured into the booming pet wellness industry with the launch of its first product for animals: the Infrared PEMF Pet Bed. This innovative bed is part of a rapidly expanding market valued at approximately $150 billion, addressing the growing demand for advanced wellness solutions for pets.

Founded nearly a decade ago, HigherDOSE originally focused on at-home wellness technology, pioneering infrared self-care tools that made recovery accessible to a wider audience. The company gained significant traction with products like the Infrared Sauna Blanket and the PEMF Mat, which became staples in many wellness routines. Now, co-founders Lauren Berlingeri and Katie Kaps aim to extend their expertise to the pet sector, reflecting the increasing interest in pet longevity and well-being.

The decision to develop a pet-specific product arose organically from customer engagement. Berlingeri noted, “Our community has always shared photos of their dogs lounging on their mats, and we saw a real, instinctive attraction to the technology.” The influx of requests for a pet version ultimately prompted the company to explore the feasibility of a dedicated product, leading to the creation of the Infrared PEMF Pet Bed.

Developed over an 18-month period, the Pet Bed incorporates insights from veterinarians and rigorous testing of materials to ensure durability and safety. “Pets claw, dig, nest, shed, and can be rough on materials in a totally different way than humans,” Berlingeri explained, emphasizing the need for a robust design that withstands typical pet behavior. The final product features a chew-resistant cord, automatic shutoff timers, and medical-grade non-toxic materials, all guided by veterinary expertise.

The bed combines the benefits of infrared heat with six different PEMF frequency levels designed to promote relaxation and recovery in pets. Kaps described PEMF as a holistic healing technology that supports rejuvenation and alleviates discomfort. “Animals tend to respond to it instinctively,” she stated, highlighting the bed’s potential to improve overall well-being in pets.

HigherDOSE’s entry into the pet wellness market comes at a time when pet owners are increasingly seeking functional products that enhance their pets’ health. This trend reflects broader cultural shifts where pet wellness is viewed as essential. Kaps believes this launch positions HigherDOSE as a leader in integrating biohacking principles into the pet care sector.

The Pet Bed, priced at $599 for the small size and $749 for the large, is designed for frequent use, making it a cost-effective investment in a pet’s health. Berlingeri suggests using the bed during established rest periods, such as after walks or before bedtime, to maximize its benefits. “Because pets tend to use the bed multiple times a day, the cost per use becomes incredibly low,” she added.

In addition to the product launch, HigherDOSE is forming strategic partnerships to enhance its impact in the pet wellness sector. Starting December 1, the brand will collaborate with Bark Air, a luxury pet-centric airline, to offer complimentary “DOSE Sessions” for dogs at airport terminals. Furthermore, the company plans to contribute $10,000 from holiday sales to Wags + Walks, a nonprofit organization focused on rescuing and rehoming dogs.

Kaps emphasized that these partnerships align with HigherDOSE’s mission of blending luxury, science, and social impact in the pet wellness domain. “Together, these partnerships show how HigherDOSE is entering pet wellness with a thoughtful blend of luxury, science, and impact,” she stated.

Looking ahead, Kaps envisions a shift in how pet wellness is perceived, moving from reactive care to proactive longevity. Berlingeri believes that the Pet Bed could play a significant role in reshaping the cultural conversation around pet health. “We hope it shifts the way people think about pet wellness,” she said, underlining the brand’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life for pets.
