Wellness Brand Half Past 8 Launches Innovative Patches for Consumers
A new wellness brand, Half Past 8, has officially launched its line of wearable wellness patches aimed at on-the-go consumers. The brand, which is available for direct purchase and at Printemps in New York City, introduces three types of patches designed to address common health concerns. Each patch is priced at $52 and is made in the United States.
The patches include:
– **Deep Sleep**, which combines melatonin, L-theanine, and other calming ingredients to promote restorative sleep.
– **Energy & Focus**, featuring yerba mate and panax ginseng for sustained energy without the crash associated with traditional energy supplements.
– **Stress & Mood**, containing St. John’s wort and a B-vitamin complex to help manage stress and support mood stability.
The founders, Meto, who previously established a private training gym in Los Angeles, and Kyle Pierce, the founder of health tech company Options MD, were inspired to create the brand after becoming parents. “Everything started when our son was born last year,” Meto stated. “Life changed dramatically, with less sleep and heightened stress. We wanted to simplify wellness in our hectic lives.”
The patches utilize transdermal technology that allows active ingredients to be released directly into the bloodstream over an eight-hour period. This method is becoming increasingly popular as it bypasses the digestive system, where traditional supplements often lose potency. “These patches use a set of ingredients that are specifically formulated to absorb through your skin,” Kyle explained. “By doing so, we avoid the need for sugars or gelatin capsules that are common in pills and gummies.”
Kyle emphasized the effectiveness of their Deep Sleep patch, which provides a measured dose of melatonin. He noted that many consumers tend to overconsume melatonin in pill form, leading to an increased dosage to achieve desired effects. “When you digest a gummy or a pill, much of it is lost in the digestive tract. Our patch allows for efficient absorption, which means users can achieve better results with lower doses.”
The brand’s development strategy has also involved extensive testing with a diverse group of users. Meto has enlisted clients from his fitness studio, many of whom are frequent travelers in demanding professions. “I have a network of top hair and makeup artists constantly on the move, and they are asking for more of our patches,” he shared.
This word-of-mouth marketing strategy has proven effective, but the brand also plans to expand its digital presence. They aim to produce educational content that highlights the science behind their products, with Kyle predicting an increase in popularity for patches in the wellness market. “Trend forecasting from Korea suggests that patches will dominate the beauty and wellness sectors in the next five years. We want to lead that charge in the U.S.,” he stated.
One of the brand’s key differentiators is its focus on effective dosages, contrasting with many competitors that prioritize aesthetic appeal over potency. Looking ahead, the duo hinted at a weight management patch set to be introduced in early 2026 and expressed interest in developing additional formats. “Our goal is wellness that integrates seamlessly into daily life,” Kyle explained. “We envision creating products that offer immediate benefits, potentially even as simple as a pocket-sized mint.”
The innovative approach of Half Past 8 positions it well within the growing wellness market, offering consumers a modern and effective alternative to traditional supplements.
