Continuing their adventure, the family made their way to Rotorua, a geothermal wonderland. Friends had warned them of the distinctive sulfurous scent, which greeted them as they approached their hotel. Undeterred, they visited the Wai Ariki Hot Springs & Spa for a soothing soak with panoramic views of Lake Rotorua.

The following day, Amy was eager to experience the Redwoods Treewalk, featuring towering sequoias and suspended walking bridges.
