Cam Skattebo Undergoes Surgery, Out for Remainder of Season

New York Giants rookie running back Cam Skattebo underwent successful surgery on October 26, 2025, to repair a dislocated right ankle. The injury occurred during the Giants’ Week 8 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, where Skattebo was tackled by linebacker Zack Baun while attempting to catch a pass. Head coach Brian Daboll confirmed the procedure was performed at a hospital in the Philadelphia area, stating, “All went well. He’s recovering. Obviously, he’ll be missed, but on the road to recovery… He’s got a road ahead of him.”

Skattebo’s injury was classified as an open dislocation, necessitating immediate medical attention instead of a transfer back to New York. The incident unfolded midway through the second quarter, leaving players from both teams visibly shaken. Fellow rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart was notably distressed, reportedly shouting in despair before kneeling on the field.

The Arizona State product was carted off the field with his ankle immobilized, marking a significant setback for the Giants. Dart expressed the emotional toll of witnessing his teammate’s injury, stating, “I was devastated. It’s my boy, man, so seeing him go down… that sucks.
