Ease Live Enhances Champions League Viewing for RTL+ Hungary
Ease Live has announced the launch of its interactive graphical overlays for UEFA Champions League matches on RTL+ Hungary for the 2025-26 season. This initiative marks a significant step in enhancing the viewer experience, allowing fans to engage with real-time statistics, team line-ups, and live polls directly on their screens.
This rollout follows Ease Live’s successful implementation of similar technology during the EURO 2024 tournament on the M6+ streaming service in France. Partnering with Bedrock, a European streaming technology firm, Ease Live is set to transform how fans interact with Champions League football on RTL+ Hungary’s digital platforms.
Interactive Features to Boost Engagement
Kjetil Horneland, CEO of Ease Live, highlighted the rapid deployment capabilities of their technology, stating, “Our seamless and rapid deployment with RTL+ Hungary demonstrates that we can go live across markets within weeks, a real breakthrough for large broadcast groups.” This adaptability allows for quick implementation of interactive features, significantly enhancing the viewing experience.
Viewers will benefit from overlays that integrate seamlessly with existing over-the-top (OTT) infrastructure, reducing deployment times from months to days. This ensures that the interactive features are synchronized accurately with live broadcasts, enhancing accessibility and monetization across platforms.
Proven Success in User Engagement
The initial results from previous deployments show promising engagement metrics. Interactive overlays have achieved up to 68% user engagement in live polls, while broadcasters using Ease Live’s technology have reported an increase in viewing durations by over 50%. Such statistics indicate not only increased viewer satisfaction but also the potential for enhanced monetization through first-party data insights.
Jonas Engwall, CEO of Bedrock, remarked on the effectiveness of their collaborative technology, stating, “The Bedrock-Ease Live technology stack is a proven way to enhance the sports viewing experience. After deploying the M6+ interactive experience, we can now quickly replicate it in other markets, like Hungary, with consistent quality.” This capability accelerates innovation and improves audience connections to sports via RTL platforms.
This latest launch at RTL+ Hungary is part of a broader trend of interactive deployments using the Ease Live Software as a Service (SaaS) platform. The platform currently supports interactive experiences for various leading sports properties, including ATP, Gotham Sports Network (covering MLB, NHL, and NBA), Spain’s La Liga, and Austria’s Servus TV, a part of the Red Bull Media House.
The introduction of interactive overlays in the Champions League matches is poised to redefine sports broadcasting in Hungary, offering fans a more immersive and engaging viewing experience. As the technology continues to evolve, it will likely set new standards for interactivity in sports media.
