Naperville Sun Unveils 2025 Boys Soccer All-Area Team
The 2025 Naperville Sun Boys Soccer All-Area Team has been announced, featuring standout players from local high schools. The team includes nine athletes from Class 3A state champion Naperville North and six from Naperville Central. This recognition highlights the exceptional talent in the region, showcasing players who have made significant contributions to their teams throughout the season.
Among the honorees is Jack Bouska, a senior goalkeeper from Naperville North, who achieved an impressive 0.44 goals-against average and secured 17 shutouts. His performance places him second on the program’s career shutout list with a total of 44 shutouts. Bouska received both all-conference and all-state honors for his efforts.
Another notable player is Ryan Gervase from Naperville Central, a senior defender recognized for his one-on-one defensive skills. He contributed to his team’s success with 5 goals and 5 assists, earning all-conference and all-sectional accolades.
The list of exceptional players continues with Andrew Hebron, a senior midfielder from Naperville North, who scored a crucial game-tying goal in the state final. He also received all-conference honors for his defensive contributions. Meanwhile, Sam Hess, also from Naperville North, tallied 6 goals and 4 assists, earning both all-conference and all-state recognition. Hess has committed to continue his soccer career at Indiana University.
From Naperville Central, Matias Jacobs made his mark as a senior forward, scoring 14 goals and providing 8 assists, which earned him all-conference recognition. His teammate, Eli Jarrell, also a senior midfielder, had a standout season with 17 goals and 14 assists, finishing second on the program’s career lists in goals (38), assists (30), and points (106). Jarrell received all-conference, all-state, and all-Midwest honors for his impressive performance.
Defensively, Colin McMahon, a senior defender from Naperville North, contributed significantly with 5 goals and 6 assists, showcasing his skills as a lockdown defender. He also received all-conference and all-sectional distinctions.
Another standout player is Josh Pedersen, a senior forward from Naperville North, who emerged as a key player with 30 goals and 10 assists, earning all-conference and all-state player of the year honors. Pedersen has committed to play at Bowling Green State University.
The All-Area Team also recognizes Sergio Polanco from Benet Academy, who achieved 13 goals and 5 assists, earning conference player of the year and all-sectional accolades. Other notable players include Alex Serra from Neuqua Valley, who had 3 goals and 2 assists, and Michael White from Naperville Central, who scored 11 goals and made 10 assists.
This year’s All-Area Team highlights the depth of talent within the local soccer community, reflecting the dedication and skill of these young athletes. Their achievements not only contribute to their respective teams but also inspire future generations of soccer players in the area.
