Ravens Set to Face Bengals with Key Stars Returning
The Baltimore Ravens will take to the field against the Cincinnati Bengals on November 23, 2023, with several key players cleared to play. Notably, defensive standout Kyle Hamilton, who had been dealing with shoulder and ankle injuries, has been designated fit to participate after a full practice on Wednesday. Alongside him, quarterback Lamar Jackson and wide receiver Rashod Bateman have also been confirmed to play, bolstering the Ravens’ lineup after missing practice earlier in the week.
Hamilton’s presence is significant for the Ravens’ defense, which has shown improvement over recent games. The Ravens will need every advantage as they face a Bengals team that welcomes back quarterback Joe Burrow and All-Pro receiver Ja’Marr Chase. Burrow is making his first appearance since suffering a turf toe injury in Week 2, while Chase returns from a one-game suspension. Both players have previously delivered remarkable performances against the Ravens, particularly in their last encounter in Baltimore, where Burrow threw for 428 yards and four touchdowns.
The stakes are high, particularly for the Ravens, who are currently on a five-game winning streak and tied for first place in the AFC North with the Pittsburgh Steelers. In contrast, the Bengals, with a record of 3-8, have struggled recently, losing their last four games. Notably, the Bengals will miss key players, including All-Pro edge rusher Trey Hendrickson due to a hip injury and wide receiver Tee Higgins, who is sidelined with a concussion. This absence marks the fourth consecutive year Higgins has missed a game in Baltimore, where he has historically performed well.
The matchup is expected to be intense, especially considering the history between these two teams. In their last meeting, the Ravens staged a dramatic comeback to win 35-34 after trailing by 14 points. Burrow’s ability to connect with Chase has proven lethal; in their two games against Baltimore in 2024, Chase set an NFL record with 457 receiving yards, underscoring the challenge the Ravens’ defense will face.
Looking ahead, both teams will aim to capitalize on their respective strengths. The Ravens hope to maintain their momentum, while the Bengals will strive to overcome their recent struggles. As kickoff approaches, anticipation builds for what promises to be a thrilling showdown on Thanksgiving night.
