Vanderbilt Women’s Golf Claims Third at The Ally Tournament
Vanderbilt University’s women’s golf team secured a commendable third-place finish at The Ally tournament, concluding their fall season with a score of 5-under. The Commodores finished just one stroke ahead of Ole Miss, who took fourth place in the competition.
Elizabeth Rudisill emerged as the standout performer for Vanderbilt, completing the tournament at 4-under and finishing eighth on the individual leaderboard. Head coach Greg Allen acknowledged the team’s effort, stating, “We certainly didn’t have our best today, but I’m proud of the effort and attitude we played with. Old Waverly played tough today.”
Ava Merrill delivered a solid performance on the final day, finishing the round at even-par. Sara Im also contributed to the team’s overall success, placing 18th with a score of 1-over for the tournament.
Strong Fall Season for Commodores
Vanderbilt’s third-place finish at The Ally marks the end of a successful fall season. The Commodores consistently performed well, placing in the top three in all four tournaments they participated in. They claimed victories at the Mason Rudolph Championship and the Ron Moore Invitational, showcasing their competitive edge.
As the team prepares for the winter break, they will focus on training for the upcoming spring season. The Commodores will return to competition from February 1-3, 2024, at the Puerto Rico Classic. This spring, they will participate in four additional events, culminating in the SEC Championships scheduled for April 17, 2024.
With their strong performance this fall, Vanderbilt women’s golf looks poised for continued success as they transition into the new year. Fans will be eager to see how the team builds on this momentum in the upcoming spring tournaments.
