BREAKING NEWS: Alejandra’s Mexican Restaurant in Downtown Visalia has officially reopened its doors after a devastating fire forced it to close for over three years. The restaurant, which was severely damaged in a fire started by a man who admitted to igniting a dumpster nearby, is now back and better than ever, welcoming eager customers once again.

After extensive renovations, Alejandra’s is ready to serve the community with a refreshed look and expanded facilities. Saul Altamirano, the General Manager, expressed the excitement shared by staff, stating, “It feels great… we have all been anxious to return back to the community.” Since reopening, the beloved eatery has already seen hundreds of visitors flowing through its doors.

The restaurant has undergone significant changes to enhance the dining experience. It now accommodates 200 customers, with a bar space that has tripled in size, seating up to 24 patrons. The patio features five new tables, and booths have been upgraded to fit six instead of four. This expansion reflects an overall growth of about 20% in dining space, allowing Alejandra’s to serve more guests than ever before.

Longtime customers, like Geraldine Cole, are thrilled to see the restaurant return. “I think it’s just the nostalgia… it’s just something so familiar to Visalia,” she shared. Geraldine and her colleagues, who have watched the construction from their offices across the street, eagerly awaited this moment.

The grand reopening event is set for Saturday, October 7, 2023, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM. The community is invited to join in the celebration as Alejandra’s reestablishes its place as a local dining staple.

Despite the challenges posed by the fire, Alejandra’s has successfully risen from the ashes, embodying a spirit of resilience. “Maybe things happen for the better… we are able to expand and have more space to feed the community,” Altamirano reflected, highlighting the positive outcome of their ordeal.

Alejandra’s will operate from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM Monday through Thursday, 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM on Friday and Saturday, and 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Sundays. For the latest updates and more information, visit their social media pages.

This triumphant return not only marks a new chapter for Alejandra’s but also revitalizes the community spirit of Downtown Visalia, making it a must-visit destination for locals and visitors alike.
