Amber Alert Issued for Missing 14-Year-Old in North Carolina

URGENT UPDATE: An Amber Alert has been issued for Nevaeh Hope Patton, a missing 14-year-old girl from Mitchell County, North Carolina. Authorities confirmed her disappearance this afternoon, raising alarm for her safety.

Nevaeh was last seen around 10 p.m. Saturday, October 14, 2023. The alert, which classifies her as an endangered child, was officially released just after 3:10 p.m. today by the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office. Information about her case was initially made public around noon today.

Described as approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 140 pounds, Nevaeh has blonde hair with distinctive pink and red highlights and brown eyes. A photo of her holding a bird has been distributed to aid in the search.

Authorities report that Nevaeh’s home is located along Harrell Hill Road near N.C. 226, about 7 miles west of Bakersville, the county seat. The search for Nevaeh is urgent, and officials are appealing to the public for help.
