Boulder County Unveils Exciting Holiday Events for 2025
UPDATE: Boulder County has just announced a vibrant lineup of holiday events for 2025, offering something for everyone this festive season! From theatrical performances to musical concerts, these events are set to create unforgettable memories for families, friends, and visitors alike.
Kick off the holiday celebrations with the highly anticipated “Extremely Wonderful New York Holiday Radio Show”, presented by the Rocky Mountain Revels at the Dairy Arts Center on December 21-22. This unique production combines music, dance, and storytelling, promising an immersive experience for audiences. Tickets are available for $28.75-$57.50 at thedairy.org.
The Revels tradition, which began in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 1971, is rooted in community and participation. The Boulder troupe, founded in 2002, showcases local talent, featuring about 30 performers from all walks of life. This year’s show revolves around a whimsical 1950s New York radio broadcast that turns chaotic when headlining performers are missing, prompting a neighborhood of eager entertainers to step in.
Darren Kelly, executive director of the Rocky Mountain Revels, emphasizes the importance of community involvement, stating, “This is one of the few chances to see your friends and neighbors put on a professional show. It is a unique experience, and we’re lucky to have it.”
The holiday calendar also boasts a myriad of other events across Boulder County, including:
– **St. Nick on the Bricks**: Visit with Santa in downtown Boulder, starting November 28, and continuing on Saturdays through December 13. Free event at the Downtown Boulder Visitor Information Center.
– **CU Holiday Festival**: Enjoy enchanting performances by student choirs and orchestras on December 5-7 at Macky Auditorium, with tickets ranging from $25-$80.
– **Holiday SpecTAPular**: Experience a delightful evening of performances on December 5-6 at The Spark. Tickets are priced from $28-$33.
– **Jeff and Paige’s Holiday Concert**: Join Boulder County’s favorite kids’ entertainers on December 12 for a magical holiday concert at Chautauqua Community House. Tickets are $35.
– **A John Waters Christmas**: Attend this irreverent holiday comedy show featuring the legendary filmmaker on December 14 at Boulder Theater, with tickets priced between $66-$79.
These events not only bring joy and cheer but also serve as a platform for local performers and artists, enriching the Boulder community. Families can engage in festive activities, from gingerbread cookie decorating at the Gingerbread Tea at St. Julien to the interactive “Making Merry” show on December 13 at Nomad Playhouse.
Don’t miss out on this festive season packed with joy, laughter, and connection. Mark your calendars, grab your tickets, and prepare for a memorable holiday experience in Boulder County!
