URGENT UPDATE: A unique opportunity to see the highly anticipated film Bugonia before its official release is happening in Los Angeles on Monday, October 20, at the Culver Theater at 8 PM. However, there’s an unusual twist: attendees must be bald or willing to shave their heads to gain entry.

The screening is free, but it’s first-come, first-serve, so early arrival is crucial. An on-site barber will be available starting at 6 PM to shave the heads of those who show up with hair. This gimmick is designed to create buzz around Yorgos Lanthimos’ absurdist comedy and will be filmed by Focus Features for promotional material.

Based on the South Korean film Save the Green Planet!, Bugonia stars Emma Stone as Michelle, a pharmaceutical CEO who becomes the target of two conspiracy theorists, Teddy (played by Jesse Plemons) and Don (Aidan Delbis). They believe Michelle is an alien sent to destroy Earth, and as part of their plot, they intend to shave her head to prevent her from contacting her spaceship.

This bold act by Stone, who shaved her head for the role, has sparked interest and excitement about the film. Stone described her experience as “pretty great” back in August, embracing the dramatic transformation.

For those unable to attend the screening, Bugonia will officially hit theaters on October 24, allowing audiences to enjoy the film without the need for drastic hair changes.

This unconventional screening concept taps into the growing trend of experiential marketing in the film industry, aiming to create a memorable connection with audiences. Be sure to share this news with friends and prepare for a unique cinematic experience!
