**Front Range Girls Basketball Teams Gear Up for 2025-26 Season**
UPDATE: With the 2025-26 girls basketball season just around the corner, teams in the Granite Peaks League are ramping up preparations for what promises to be an exhilarating year. Coaches and players are eager to build on last season’s performances, with several teams eyeing championship runs.
The Broomfield Eagles are poised to make waves once again. Under the leadership of Coach Mike Croell, the Eagles, who finished last season with a stellar 23-2 record and reached the 6A Sweet 16, are counting on the talents of senior forward Paige Gilpatrick. Standing at 6-foot-2, Gilpatrick is committed to play at Boise State next year, and last season averaged 10.3 points, 6 rebounds, and 2.6 steals.
In nearby Centaurus, Coach Mark Pacheco is looking to revitalize the program after a challenging season, ending at 9-14. With a roster featuring eight returning seniors, including potential breakout star sophomore Emi Sanders, the Warriors aim to establish a strong defensive identity.
Meanwhile, the Erie Tigers, led by Coach Tyler Cerveny, are looking to build on their 15-9 record that took them to the second round of the 6A state tournament. Senior guard Juliet Slater, who averaged 13.1 points last season, is on the brink of hitting 1,000 career points, currently at 715.
The Fairview Knights are also gearing up for improvement. Coach Pete Campbell is relying on junior guard/forward Chloe Hickory, who averaged 10.7 points last year, to lead the team past last season’s 12-12 finish.
In Frederick, the Golden Eagles are determined to surpass last year’s 19-7 quarterfinal run in the 5A state tournament. Coach Jake Hansen will look to senior guard Emma Rivera, the lone returning starter, to anchor the team.
As for the Holy Family Tigers, after a strong 17-9 finish and a semifinal appearance in the 4A state tournament, Coach Mike Quintana is counting on senior guard Gracie Ward, who averaged 14 points last season, to lead the charge once again.
The Legacy Lightning and Longmont Trojans are also preparing for significant challenges ahead. Both teams are looking to build competitive squads, with new coaching strategies and emerging young talents.
The upcoming season promises intense competition across the Front Range, with teams like the Mead Mavericks targeting another deep playoff run after last season’s 23-4 finish. Coach Mike Ward expects strong performances from returning stars like junior guard Madi Clark.
As these teams prepare for their first games, fans and players alike are buzzing with anticipation. Coaches stress the importance of teamwork, strategy, and resilience.
What’s next? The season kicks off in December 2025, and all eyes will be on the teams as they strive for glory. For updates, follow your favorite teams and players as they embark on this thrilling journey.
