Guy Fieri Rushed to Hospital After Gruesome On-Set Injury
BREAKING: Celebrity chef Guy Fieri is currently wheelchair-bound after suffering a severe injury while filming his latest show, Flavortown Food Fight. The incident occurred when Fieri “slipped down a set of steps,” leading to a catastrophic quad muscle tear that left medical professionals stunned.
In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, Fieri revealed that during the fall, “one foot went forward and the other foot got caught on the threshold,” resulting in a tear “in half” of his quad muscle. The 57-year-old culinary star was rushed to the hospital, where doctors confirmed they had never seen such a serious injury in the “biggest, thickest” part of the leg in their two decades of practice.
UPDATE: Fieri underwent immediate surgery to prevent muscle retraction, emphasizing the urgency of the situation. With 125 people on set at the time, he noted the team had to quickly pivot with creative filming techniques to keep the show on track. “It’s been a run,” he stated.
Currently, Fieri is getting around using crutches and a wheelchair, as he has been advised to stay off his injured leg for a full eight weeks. At that point, he will receive a cast and begin rehabilitation, which he is eager to start “as fast as possible.” “It sucked,” Fieri acknowledged, describing the injury as a “damper” on his usual routine.
As Thanksgiving approaches, Fieri’s eldest son, Hunter, will take charge of the family feast, humorously texting his father that it’s his “time to shine.” Fieri’s youngest son, Ryder, and his nephew, Jules, are also stepping up, proving their cooking skills. “It’s gonna be me quarterbacking from the wheelchair and telling them what to do,” Fieri shared, highlighting the family dynamic during this challenging time. The Fieri family typically prepares meals for about 40 people, promising an adventurous holiday season ahead.
Fieri, who shares his sons with wife Lori Fieri, has previously stated he will not leave them any inheritance unless they “get two degrees.” The chef’s resilience and humor shine through even in adversity, showcasing his commitment to family and food.
As he navigates recovery, fans and followers are encouraged to send their well wishes for a swift healing process. Stay tuned for more updates on Fieri’s condition and his upcoming projects.
