High School Football Clash: Bloomfield vs. East Catholic Saturday
UPDATE: The highly anticipated high school football showdown between Bloomfield and East Catholic is set for Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. at Cheney Tech in Manchester. This crucial matchup has significant playoff implications, with both teams currently sporting a 4-2 record, vying for one of the coveted playoff spots in Class S.
As the action-packed Week 8 of Connecticut high school football unfolds, teams are racing against the clock to secure their positions before Halloween festivities take over. The stakes are higher than ever, especially for Bloomfield, who is coming off a thrilling 16-14 victory over Northwest Catholic. This win has propelled them into the top eight of the Class S rankings.
East Catholic, ranked 11th, is eager to turn the tides after suffering both losses to Bloomfield last season, including a narrow 22-21 defeat in the quarterfinals that ended their playoff run. A victory this Saturday would not only boost their ranking but also avenge last year’s heart-wrenching losses.
Key players to watch include Bloomfield’s dynamic quarterback Cameron White, who boasts impressive stats with 503 passing yards and five touchdowns alongside 411 rushing yards and three rushing TDs.
