North Reading Stuns Medfield, Advances to Semifinals with 21-20 Win

UPDATE: In a stunning turnaround, the fifth-seeded North Reading Hornets overcame a 13-point deficit to defeat the fourth-seeded Medfield Warriors 21-20 in the Division 5 quarterfinals, securing their spot in the state semifinals. The thrilling victory took place at Calvin George Fisher Field on Friday night, marking a pivotal moment in their season.

North Reading’s defense, which had been challenged throughout the season, delivered an extraordinary performance by shutting out Medfield in the second half. Blum reflected on the team’s resilience, stating, “When you get in moments of this adversity, it’s doing it for each other and digging a little deeper. They just had a little bit more and again, each play they just kept doing it. It was awesome.”
