Trump “Completely Panicked” as House Set to Vote on Epstein Files
URGENT UPDATE: The House of Representatives is poised to vote next week on a pivotal bill that aims to compel the Justice Department to release all files related to Jeffrey Epstein. This legislative move has sent President Donald Trump into a state of panic, with officials describing his actions as desperate attempts to block the vote.
Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA), the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, stated during an interview on MSNBC that the vote is expected to pass “with substantial numbers.” He characterized Trump’s efforts to thwart the vote as indicative of a cover-up, saying, “He is completely panicked… desperate to stop the files from being released.”
The urgency surrounding this situation escalated after a discharge petition successfully gathered enough signatures to force a vote. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) has scheduled the vote for next week, signaling a critical moment in the ongoing investigation into Epstein and his potential co-conspirators.
Trump’s maneuvers include pressuring House Republicans who initially backed the petition to withdraw their support, an effort that has reportedly failed. Additionally, Trump convened an emergency meeting in the Situation Room to strategize around the impending vote, fearing that the release of the files could have devastating implications for his administration.
With the vote just days away, Garcia expressed confidence that it would pass without significant hurdles. “Now, we know that [what’s in] the DOJ dwarfs what we’ve already seen through [Epstein’s] estate,” he emphasized, asserting the need for these documents to ensure justice for the survivors of Epstein’s abuses.
Adding to the gravity of the situation, Rep. Melania Stansbury (D-NM) forecasted that the fallout from Epstein could lead to a scandal as explosive as Watergate, potentially jeopardizing Trump’s political future. “It’s clear that this is a White House cover-up,” Garcia reiterated, underscoring the implications of the files’ release.
The House Oversight Committee, which has subpoena power, has faced unresponsiveness from the Justice Department regarding the files. “They are under subpoena right now from our committee, and we are demanding action,” Garcia said, reinforcing the urgency of the situation.
As the vote approaches, public interest and pressure on lawmakers are intensifying. This critical moment could redefine the narrative surrounding Epstein’s case and its connections to the Trump administration. With both political and emotional stakes high, the outcome of this vote may resonate far beyond Capitol Hill.
Stay tuned as this story develops, and watch for updates on the vote’s timing and implications for Trump and the ongoing investigation into Epstein’s activities. The release of these files could bring new revelations to light, impacting both political careers and the lives of countless survivors.
