Mia Goth, Dan Stevens, and Zach Galifianakis Star in ‘Hey Bear’
Mia Goth, Dan Stevens, and Zach Galifianakis have been cast in the upcoming film Hey Bear, marking the directorial debut of Jonathan Krisel, known for his work on Portlandia. This unique feature is described as a “coming of rage” story, centering on themes of grief and revenge.
The narrative follows Claire, portrayed by Goth, who embarks on a quest for vengeance after a bear kills her husband, Gregory, played by Stevens. Initially believing the animal has been euthanized, Claire discovers it has actually been relocated. Determined to find the creature, she partners with a park ranger named Putt, portrayed by Galifianakis, whose own motivations add complexity to their mission.

HanWay Films will manage international sales for Hey Bear and is set to present the film to buyers at the American Film Market in Los Angeles from November 11-16, 2025. In North America, sales will be handled by WME Independent and UTA Independent Film Group.

As absurd and crazy as the premise of this story is, you always fully connect and empathize with Claire’s journey as she figures out how, out of grief, to take ownership of her life again.”
The film aims to blend humor with emotional depth, providing a platform for Goth, Stevens, and Galifianakis to showcase their talents.
